Think about this.

Would you rather have a fast-food chain hamburger or a hand-cut steak cooked exactly how you like it? That is the ‘cookie-cutter’ posed photo vs Lifestyle Photography moments.

Many photographers choose to follow the familiar studio-style of creating sleeping baby-in-a-basket images. I know a few of them too. They are amazing at what they do, but it’s just not ME.

I have tried for so long to fit within the mould of what people think family photos should look like, but, to be honest, I’m never going to feel comfortable with it, so my clients would not feel comfortable.

Choose Lifestyle Photography

Why? It’s about capturing genuine moments in-between the moments. It’s creating beautiful, emotive images with a story behind each one.

My approach is more photojournalistic in nature. We all know how unpredictable children can be, and they may not happily oblige when asked to sit and smile.

I love to simply follow the family around, capturing quirky, candid moments whilst interacting with each other. I find this results in the best pictures.

Family shoots are fun, informal and relaxed. I come to you, either in the comfort of your own home, where your little ones feel comfortable, at a family outing or in your favourite setting.

Sessions last between one to two hours, making sure no-one feels rushed. I like to arrive with plenty of time to spare, so that I can get to know everyone before hand.

The end product reflects natural moments frozen in time.
