What does “Umoya” actually mean?

From the African language Xhosa, Umoya is translated as “Spirit”. I chose the name as some African cultures believe the spirit is captured by a photo. This is what I strive to achieve through my lifestyle approach to capturing natural family portraits and candid moments.

My particular style lends itself well to covering many genres of photography, including Pregnancy, Newborn & Babies, Families, as well as Weddings & Events. Click on one of the buttons below to read how I approach each.

Who am I?

I am a Mom of two boys and all-round juggler, balancing my time between my family, home life and my creative outlet.  I’d be nothing without my two nutters – they inspired me to make the crazy decision to work with kids.  Whilst my home is in Horsham, I cover Sussex and surrounding areas, and happy to travel further with reasonable fuel compensation.
I work purely on location, whether it be in a natural outdoor setting, your home, or venue booked for an event.
